Prior to starting Evans Outdoor Adventures in 2015, we visited some incredible sites across the American West. As time permits, I’m going back into our photo vault to share some of those memorable adventures with you. In this post, I’ll be sharing our March 2012 visit to the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Desert Botanical Garden offers one of the world’s finest collections of arid plants from the deserts of the world. The Garden has more than 50,000 desert plants on display along five themed trails.
During our hikes across the American West, we love seeing unique flora in its natural habitat. Visiting man-made gardens like this isn’t normally our thing. Yes…we’re cheap. And the thought of paying close to $30 each to see plants that we could see in nature for free pains me more than I care to admit. But The Desert Botanical Garden was worth every penny. We both had a great time and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Phoenix area.
The Garden is open daily from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. (closed July 1-4, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day). Admission is $24.95-$29.95 for adults and $12-95-$14.95 for children ages 3-17 (children under 3 are free). The gardens are located at 1201 N. Gavin Parkway in Phoenix, Arizona.
